Overview

Neverfrost is a local co-op game, developed for the Winter MelonJam of 2023. The game is designed for 2 players to build up points by "charming" orbs with a snowflake pattern. Charming an orb gains 1 point but firing them at a player grants an extra 2 points! If the fired orb hits another orb you gain an extra 1 point. Regardless of whether the fired orb hits or misses, it loses its "charm" and can possibly be charmed by the other player. The player with the most points after a 90-second match wins. I highly recommend playing in fullscreen mode if you are playing through the website. Also try not to press control and w at the same time because that closes the tab.

Controls

Player 1:

Movement: WASD

Charm Orb: Hold LEFT SHIFT

Fire Orb: LEFT CONTROL

Player 2:

Movement: Arrow keys

Charm Orb: Hold RIGHT SHIFT

Fire Orb: RIGHT CONTROL

The sound effects in the game were mixed from sounds on the websites Pixabay and Mixkit. All the code and art were designed by myself.
